Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Ecological Environment and the National Forestry and Grass Administration issued the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" for National Agricultural Green Development. The plan proposes that by 2025, agricultural resources such as cultivated land and water will be effectively protected and the utilization efficiency will be significantly improved, and the treatment of degraded cultivated land will make significant progress, and the agricultural production system based on the bearing capacity of resources and environment will be initially established. The use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides has been continuously reduced, the level of agricultural waste recycling has been significantly improved, and agricultural non-point source pollution has been effectively curbed. The ecosystem of cultivated land has been restored, the biodiversity has been effectively protected, the farmland ecosystem has become more stable, and the ecological functions of forests, grasslands and wetlands have been continuously enhanced. The intensity of greenhouse gas emissions from major agricultural products has been significantly reduced, the ability of agriculture to reduce carbon emissions and cope with climate change has been continuously enhanced, and the efficiency of agricultural energy use has been effectively improved.

At the same time, the plan proposes that by 2035, the agricultural green development will have achieved remarkable results, the rural ecological environment will be fundamentally improved, the green production and life style will be widely formed, the agricultural production and the resources and environment carrying capacity will basically match, the agricultural development pattern coordinated with the production and life ecology will be basically established, and the beautiful and pleasant new socialist countryside will be basically completed.
